Become a Resident

Saunders House welcomes all interested families for a tour and informational meeting with a member of our admissions staff. Please call the admissions staff at (610) 658-5104 or (610) 658-5154. You can also send an e-mail to info@saundershouse.org to learn more about Saunders House and to set up an appointment.

Once a family expresses interest in having a loved one live at Saunders House, the case is reviewed by the admissions staff. Upon confirmation of the admission, necessary paperwork is completed and admissions staff notifies the hospital or a family member to arrange for the arrival of the new resident to Saunders House.

In preparation for the resident’s move, admissions staff provides all pertinent information to the nursing and office staff. Every action is taken to make the transition for the new resident as smooth and comfortable as possible. All residents are assigned a member of the management staff as a personal point of contact throughout their stay.

The Saunders House daily rate includes:

• Private or semi-private accommodations
• Three complete meals and a variety of snacks prepared by our expert dining services staff
• Customized diet supervision
• Skilled nursing care ranging from assistance with personal grooming to guidance with daily activities
• Comprehensive recreation program

Extra expenses may include:

• Daily newspaper
• Personal laundry service
• Hairdresser/barber services
• Telephone
• Television
• Medications and some medical supplies
• Purchases at the gift shop
• Transportation and a companion for medical appointments

In addition to accepting Medicare and Medicaid, Saunders House has contracts with a variety of managed care providers in the Greater Delaware Valley. Some residents may have long-term care or private insurance that will pay for their care at Saunders House. Admissions staff assists residents and their families in applying for and obtaining insurance reimbursement.
