Programs for the Community

Senior Life & Culture

As a community-based organization, we continue to reach out to our neighbors. Saunders House began collaborating with the Walter & Leonore Annenberg Center for Medical Education at Lankenau Hospital to offer the Senior Life & Culture Series in 2005. The goal of the program is to educate older adults about health and lifestyle topics by providing practical information to help them adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Last year more than 700 local older adults learned about a variety of health topics, and we expect to educate more than 1,500 community members this year.

My Medicare Matters Navigator Project

Saunders House is a pilot site for a community-based education and outreach initiative called the “My Medicare Matters Navigator Project.” We are proud to be part of a select group of organizations chosen to empower Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and their caregivers to learn about Medicare by navigating reliable websites.

The project goal is to enable Medicare beneficiaries to assess their personal situation, understand their choices, compare plan options, and make decisions they believe are right for their health and financial situation. My Medicare Matters is sponsored by the National Council on Aging and Access to Benefits Coalition with support from AstraZeneca.
